Methods of Investigation: Week three

For the final week, I took the feedback I received on the last “map” I made and created more textures and patterns to collate together into a final book style texture map.

The following are scans I completed in the next week.

After this, I imported the files into photoshop and began making composite threshold images.

After this step, I began playing with the individual pieces as patterns in illustrator.

Once I had developed more patterns, I began to reorganize them based on order of natural “noticing” and grouping them by material quality.

For example, when you enter the balcony, the first thing you see is the clothesline and clips often holding up shirts. This is at eye level.

And so on and so forth. I tried to document how you might explore the balcony based on where your eye naturally lands. The final product is like using MapQuest printed directions for the balcony.
