After creating ‘Versus’ I began to think about how to experiment in a controlled, curated manner. This usually is something I try not to do, letting my visual experiments direct themselves, seeing where experimentation can lead me. It was interesting to work in a controlled way, but I think it resulted in less interesting work.

I wrote down a bunch of themes and ideas for how I could explore the concept of professionalism, the professional class, and the fear and sense of not fitting in within the design world and capitalism as a whole.

From that, I began my first experiment, which was intended to be a phtotobook of cyclical professionality within photography. I wanted to change the sensor size of the camera I was shooting with, but keep the image mainly the same throughout. I did a few iterations of this, but didn’t really find the humour or effect I was going for. I thought it also was for a very niche audience and not everyone could or would appreciate it, and thought it was quite pretentious as well. I went from point and shoot to APSC to full frame and back.
